Stand Down to Stand Up for Safety: Join the Movement to Prevent Falls
Every year, National Safety Stand-Down Week serves as a powerful reminder: Fall Hazards remain one of the leading causes of workplace injuries and fatalities—and we all have a role in prevention.

Whether you’re a safety director, supervisor, or team lead, this is your moment to pause the work and talk directly with your crew about safety.
This year marks the 10th annual Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction.
Let’s make it count.
What is a Safety Stand-Down?
A Safety Stand-Down is a voluntary event for employers to take a break and engage workers in conversations about fall prevention and overall jobsite safety. It can be as simple as a 15-minute toolbox talk or as involved as a full-site inspection or rescue plan review.
Great Stand-Down activities include:
-
Discussing job-specific hazards
-
Reviewing PPE and fall protection gear
-
Re-evaluating rescue plans
-
Reinforcing your company’s safety goals and expectations
Who Can Join?
Everyone.
From general contractors to independent tradespeople, trade associations, unions, safety consultants, and government agencies—millions of workers from all 50 states (and beyond) have participated in previous years.
If you’re committed to improving workplace safety, you’re invited.
